WCHS 1995

B.S. University of North Alabama 1999

M.A. University of North Alabama 2006

I was born in Ypsilanti, MI and lived in Milan, MI until I was 16 years old. Just prior to my junior year of high school, I moved to Waynesboro. I played football and baseball at Wayne County High School (WCHS) and graduated as a WCHS Wildcat in 1995. After high school, I attended the University of North Alabama (UNA) and graduated with a B.S. degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. I worked as a Case Manager, Behavior Specialist, and Counselor for seven years. In 2006 I earned a Master's Degree in Counseling from UNA. I worked as a School Counselor at Summertown High School (SHS) from 2007 to 2019. At SHS I coached middle and high school football.

I am married to Cassondra (Jones) Blackwell, a 2000 graduate of WCHS. We have two children, Carter and Sarah who attend WCHS and WMS. We attend Phillips Chapel Community Church. Some of my hobbies include running, reading, and anything involving sports or competition. I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach, coach, and serve the students in my home town. GO CATS!
